May 08, 2009 - The United States Addresses the H1N1 Influenza Issue with Asian Partners

Dr. Richard Besser, acting Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), discussed H1N1 influenza May 7 with participants in a special meeting in Bangkok of the health ministers from the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) plus China, Japan, and South Korea (ASEAN Plus Three). Speaking via videoconference from Atlanta, Dr. Besser updated Asian partners on the H1N1 influenza in the United States as well as on the aggressive U.S. public health campaign, led by the CDC, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agency, to tackle the situation.  More>>
