Childhood Obesity and the U.S.-México Border

June 22, 2009 - The U.S.-México Border Health Commission (BHC) wishes to share this white paper on Childhood Obesity and the U.S.-México Border examining the prevalence, risk factors, and health outcomes of the childhood obesity epidemic along the U.S.-México border with a separate white paper on the topic of diabetes to follow at a later date.

 

The U.S.-México Border Health Commission (BHC) has identified obesity and diabetes as priorities for 2009-2010 in support of and in response to the XXVI U.S.-México Border Governor’s Conference Joint Declaration.  The BHC will further promote the complementary themes of “Families in Action for Health - Preventing Obesity and Diabetes” during the annual Border Binational Health Week celebration in October 2009.
