HHS Hosts Web Seminar for National HIV Testing DayJune 25, 2007 - On June 22, 2007, ADM John Agwunobi, M.D., Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and Kevin Fenton, M.D., Director of the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Disease, and Tuberculosis Prevention within the HHS Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, participated in a Web seminar (webinar) for health writers to promote National HIV Testing Day, which is June 27, 2007. The goals of this webinar are to promote routine HIV testing in health-care settings, and to link blog readers to places they can get an HIV test in their communities in the United States. First Lady Laura Bush used the experience of the United States' own National HIV Testing Day to propose the adoption last year at the United Nations General Assembly of an International HIV Testing Day.
