July 17, 2007 – HHS Assistant Secretary for Health ADM John Agwunobi met with the Chief Scientific Advisor to Her Majesty’s Government and Head of the Office of Science and Innovation (OSI), Sir David King, on July 11, 2007.

The two officials discussed pandemic-preparedness activities, and, in particular, their assessment of the challenges both countries have encountered while developing strategies for rapid response to address the medical, epidemiological and psychological conditions of a pandemic.

They also discussed the importance of industry involvement in the development of rapid diagnostic tests and vaccine production on an international level.
