North American Leaders’ Declaration on H1N1
August 10, 2009 - Building on strong trilateral cooperation this past spring, and, in anticipation of a possible fall wave of flu due to the 2009 H1N1 virus, President Obama, Mexican President Felipe Calderón, and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued a joint statement on H1N1 influenza at the North American Leaders Summit, held August 9-10 in Guadalajara, Mexico. The three leaders stated that strong trilateral collaboration has led to a more secure North America region, and agreed to continue to work together in the months ahead to address the pandemic and promote the health of the people of the three nations.
