Fourth Team of HHS Commissioned Corps Officers Joins Humanitarian Mission of the USNS Comfort

September 17, 2007 – The fourth and final team of U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps officers from the U.S. Department of Health of Health and Human Services (HHS) has joined the humanitarian mission of the hospital ship USNS Comfort. The HHS/USPHS specialists, from disciplines such as dentistry, environmental health, medicine, and nursing, will remain on board the Comfort as she makes the last three stops (Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, and Guyana) of her four-month, 12-nation voyage through Latin America and the Caribbean.
