U.S. Department of Labor Seeks Public Input on Anti-Trafficking MeasureOctober 5, 2007 - The Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005 directed the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) to "develop and make available to the public a list of goods from countries that ILAB has reason to believe are produced by forced labor or child labor in violation of international standards." In the October 1, 2007, Federal Register, the Department of Labor published a "Notice of Proposed Procedural Guidelines for the Development and Maintenance of the List of Goods From Countries Produced by Child Labor and Forced Labor," pursuant to this mandate. The Department invites all interested persons to submit written comments by October 31, 2007, on the proposed guidelines (PDF - 62KB).
