November 20, 2008 – HHS Deputy Secretary meets with Canadian Deputy Minister of Health.

November 20, 2008 - The Honorable Tevi D. Troy, Ph.D., U.S. Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), today welcomed the Honorable Morris Rosenberg, Deputy Minister of Health, Canada.  The meeting centered on ongoing challenges and opportunities to improve food and product safety, including capacity-building in other countries and developing risk-based strategies that improve methods of inspection and detection.  In addition, the two officials highlighted the benefits realized through the close cooperation between the HHS Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada’s Health Products and Food Branch.
