HHS in Sub-Saharan Africa
OGA Africa supports HHS agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH)and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to work on an interagency level to implement global health programs. OGA Africa also works closely with the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Africa (AFRO), the African Union, and other regional bodies to accomplish its mission.
OGA Africa, in collaboration with its partners, assists African ministers of health and their representatives to develop and implement their national health programs. Representing the Department of Health and Human Services, the office maintains a presence at many global policy forums and is an active voice in the dialogue surrounding health and human development on the African continent.
OGA Africa is actively involved in key Presidential health-related initiatives, such as the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the President's Malaria Initiative (PMI).

- Other vector-borne diseases (yellow fever,Dengue fever, etc.)

- Measles and other vaccine-preventable diseases
- Emerging infectious diseases

- Waterborne diseases, (e.g. cholera)
- Environmental health
- Non-communicable diseases (cardiovascular disease, injuries, diabetes, tobacco-related illnesses, etc.)
- Refugee health
